Rafting on the Vézère river in the Dordogne: thrilling experiences in Vigeois

Are you in a group, looking for thrills, and want to go beyond a leisurely paddle? Rafting on the Middle Vézère River is for you. Enjoy a well-planned 1 hour and 15 minute descent, with a guide on board to steer the course, and Class 3 rapids that will wake everyone up.

What is rafting?

A raft is a large inflatable boat for 6 to 8 people, propelled by a single paddle. A professional guide steers the raft at the stern and gives instructions to the crew. No experience is necessary: simply follow the instructions, paddle energetically when directed, and enjoy the rest. The raft is very stable, even in the rapids.

Where does the rafting take place?

Unlike our canoe and kayak trips departing from Montignac, the rafting takes place on the Middle Vézère River, much further upstream, in Vigeois, Corrèze, about 20 minutes from Brive-la-Gaillarde. It is here that the Vézère offers its most beautiful Class 3 rapids, perfect for rafting during periods of high water.

Who can go rafting?

  • Ages 12 and up
  • In good physical condition
  • Must know how to swim (required)

The guide takes care of all the technical aspects. You simply need to follow their instructions and give a few strokes.
